Green-Up Community Clean Up!
5 participantsIn honor of Earth day, residents and students alike are encouraged to get outside in your neighborhood, local city or town park, the downtown district, SUNY campus or the city beach to pick up litter and organic waste, plant trees or flowers or learn more about how you can support our environment!
Garbage bags, gloves and paper yard waste bags will be available to pick up at City Hall, located at 41 City Hall Place and Town Hall, located at 151 Banker Road, between 9:00AM and 10:00AM on April 18th.
Participating is simple: Register yourself or your group for the clean up by completing this short form (coming soon). Registering for the event will enter you to win prizes and also help the city coordinate the clean up effort.

Memorial Day Parade
3 participantsHelp us honor the brave men and women who served our country by volunteering at this year’s Memorial Day Parade. The event kicks off at 12:00 PM on Monday, May 25, starting at the West Side Ballroom and ending at the US Oval. We need helping hands to assist with everything from set-up and logistics to guiding participants and welcoming attendees.
Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or new to community events, your support makes a difference. This is a meaningful way to show appreciation for our veterans while giving back to the Plattsburgh community.

Parks Come Alive at Peter Blumette Park!

This event is Thursday June 11th from 4:30-7:30PM at Peter Blumette Park at 101 Park Ave W, Plattsburgh.
Volunteers are needed to help with event setup and breakdown, including setting up tents, tables, and other equipment. The most helpful times are 3:00–4:30 PM for setup and 7:30–8:30 PM for teardown. Volunteers play a key role in making this community event a success.

Parks Come Alive at Melissa Penfield Park

Fourth of July Parade!
1 participantThe City’s Fourth of July Parade is a long-standing community tradition that brings residents and visitors together to celebrate Independence Day.
Volunteers are needed to help parade participants check in, get lined up, and assist with spacing throughout the parade route to keep things running smoothly and safely. This is a great opportunity to support a beloved community event and be part of the celebration behind the scenes.
This years Fourth of July Parade is taking place on Saturday July 4th, 2026 at 2:30PM. Help will be needed from 1-3PM.

Lake City Arts Fest
2 participantsLake City Arts Fest is a vibrant, community-wide celebration of art, creativity, and culture in downtown Plattsburgh. The event takes place Saturday, August 22, from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM, outside the Strand Center for the Arts.
Volunteers are needed to help with event setup, assist throughout the day, and support takedown at the end of the festival. Available shifts include setup (9:00–11:00 AM), event support (11:00 AM–4:00 PM), and takedown (4:00–5:30 PM). Volunteers play a key role in helping the festival run smoothly and creating a welcoming experience for artists and attendees.

Holiday Parade
1 participantThe City’s Holiday Parade is a festive community tradition that brings residents together to celebrate the season in downtown Plattsburgh.
The parade begins at 5:00 PM on December 5, and volunteers are needed to help with parade operations from approximately 4:00–5:30 PM. Volunteer roles include assisting with participant check-in, helping groups get lined up, and supporting spacing and flow as the parade gets underway. Volunteers play an important role in ensuring the parade runs smoothly, safely, and on time.

Downtown Trick or Treat
1 participantDowntown Trick-or-Treat is a free, family-friendly event that invites families to enjoy a safe and fun Halloween experience while visiting participating downtown businesses. The event takes place on October 24, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 PM.
Volunteers are needed to help with event setup beginning at 10:00 AM, assist with takedown, and support the event by helping families safely cross streets throughout downtown during the event. Help with one or all of these tasks are appreciated. Volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming and safe experience for kids and families.
