
U.S. Oval Park
About the Park
US Oval Park is located within the United States Oval Historic District, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 53-acre site is part of the larger Plattsburgh City Multiple Resource Area. The 28 buildings included in the Historic District were all constructed between 1893 and 1934 as components of the US Army's Plattsburgh Barracks. The current US Oval Park was formerly utilized as the Army's athletic fields and parade grounds. The Park celebrates its rich history by offering several sporting fields and maintaining historic structures, such as the gazebo.

Phases
Public Outreach
During this phase of the project the City conducted public outreach during the Parks Come Alive! events hosted in three of our city parks; Melissa Penfield, Peter Blumette and South Acres Park. Event attendees could leave comments on each park and share their feedback with City staff. Comments on the park were compiled and can be viewed by clicking on the file below.
In late summer/ early fall, the City conducted an online survey to gather more feedback from the community. Click on the file below to view the survey results.
