Thank you for your comments Jonathan! Last summer we conducted a period of public outreach where we asked residents how they would like their city parks re imaged and these plans were the outcome of those conversations. This was supplemented by the expertise of the consultants working on the project and city staff. Some playgrounds (like the Oval, South Acres and Melissa Penfield Park) are called "destination playgrounds" which is why they feature more unique play structures, while other playgrounds (like Peter Blumette and Fox Hill) are considered neighborhood playgrounds.
We will certainly bring your comments forward regarding the trees to the final plan. as well as your comment about park interconnectivity while we continue to develop the Bike Friendly Plattsburgh plan.
Again thanks for your feedback and for participating!

Overall thoughts

My initial thoughts after reviewing all park proposals:
It's evident these plans are well thought out.
I like that each space has some crossover utility with the other parks while maintaining their own unique feel.
I think an overarching detail that would enhance the city and access to these parks is the ability to walk/ride from anywhere within the city.
I'd be curious to know more of the overall thought process behind each parks development. I like the ovals themed playground, is there space and history to do the same for other parks?
I'd like to see more trees scattered throughout the parks.
