North Country Handball Club is looking for members!

Hello! Just to clarify a point- while we enjoy the game of pickleball and appreciate the growth and popularity of the sport, there are numerous tennis courts across the city and elsewhere in the region being converted to pickleball courts. The existing outdoor racquetball/handball courts are the only courts of their kind in the area, and should be preserved. Why they were allowed to fall into disuse is as much a topic of maintenance schedules and budgets as of community interest (it took several years of requests for the trees to be trimmed back, for example). This is discouraging to experienced players, and severely discouraging to new players! Thus, a self-fulfilling prophecy of "under-utilized facility". Thank you for reconsidering the placement of new pickleball courts in that specific location. The racquetball/handball courts were purpose-built for these activities, and should be retained.

The courts are currently in playable condition (and will be swept out!). Thank you to the Municipal Lighting Department for trimming back the overhanging tree branches a while back!
